AGENT REQUIREMENTS AND FAQ
- A personal computer with at least a 1 GHz Pentium III processor or better.
- A minimum of 1 GB of RAM Memory.
- Windows XP (we do not recommend the Home Edition)
- Internet Explorer 7
- Java 2- Version 1.5 or higher
- A minimum of one USB port (USB version 2)
- System configured in accordance with Microsoft's recommendations as outlined on their 'Protect Your PC Web Site." These steps include:
- Windows Update module enabled and configured to update automatically
- Windows standard firewall enabled on systems where it exists
- Anti-Virus software installed and configured to automatically update using AVG software: www.avg.com
- Microsoft also has free anti-spyware that is very effective in killing spyware. It can be downloaded for free at http://www.microsoft.com/windows/products/winfamily/defender/default.mspx
- Ad-Aware installed and run at least once per week. You can get this tool at no cost at www.lavasoft.com
- A monitor capable of displaying at least 1024 X 768 pixels
- A sound card installed
- Speakers or headphones
- Printer
Wrightson Enterprises requires either a DSL or Cable broadband connection. We do not support satellite or dialup connections.
The telephone must be compatible with either a standard fixed phone line (corded analog phone) or a digital cable connection from the following providers AT&T Uverse, Verizon FIOS and Comcast Digital Voice, and be free from all features such as call waiting and voice mail. Long distance will not be necessary.
Cordless phones are NOT supported. We will NOT support cell phones due to security reasons. You will need a wired headset. Plantronics has offers a diverse line of wired headsets for use as a VSC agent. Make sure that your headset is compatible with your phone before purchase.
You must be a US resident 18 years of age or older to apply.
All applicants must be able to type at least 40 words per minute. The only exception is when an agent provides chat services. An agent must be able to type 80 words per minute.
Since many of the assignments can include the use of customer credit cards, Wrightson Enterprises and its partners require a credit check for every applicant. A low credit rating will not automatically disqualify you for all call types.
Clients requires an extensive background check that may include employment verification and drug screening. If you have been invited to become a agent, the fee will as much as $50. From time to time the client may ask for addition background checks depending on the assignment. It is every applicant’s option to accept or reject any invitation to certify to become an agent, and Wrightson Enterprises or its partners attempts to fully disclose the terms, conditions, costs and fees associated with a particular invitation before any applicant begins the certification and background screening process. All agents who provide services to Wrightson Enterprises or its partners are independent contractors, not employees, and this expense is the sole responsibility of the agent. Applicants will not be reimbursed for any part of this cost for any reason.
DOES WRIGHTSON ENTERPRISES WITHHOLD TAXES?
No. We consider anyone who works as an agent with Wrightson Enterprises as a contractor. Our third party partners will issue at the end of the year a 1099 for tax purposes.
WHAT ARE THE MINIMUM COMMITTEMENT HOURS?
Wrightson Enterprises requires a commitment of 20 hours per week to enter our program.
WHERE CAN YOU LIVE TO BE AN AGENT?
You can only live in the continental United States. At this time we can not recruit agents from Canada. Pespective candidates that live in some states may not be eligible to contract with our clients. You may check back periodically to see if state restrictions have changed.
DOES WRIGHTSON ENTERPRISES OR ITS PARTNERS REIMBURSEE EXPENSES?
No. Computer, telephone, internet and any other home office expenses are the responsibility of each agent.
